OBX Part 2
We woke up on our first day of vacation ready for relaxation and fun! Some of the guys golfed early that morning so the boys and I headed to the beach! Our house wasn't right on the beach. We had options of a trolley that came through our community , driving down or walking. Well mistake #2 for me this week so far....walking. Let me paint that picture a little more clearly.....pulling a wagon full of 80lbs of sweetness, 3 chairs , cooler, sand toys and beach bag....walking over a mile up and down oddly steep hills. Lets just say after this morning I drove!
Maxwell was instantly obsessed and Z was too busy with bubbles.
Here is where our day gets interesting. A friend and I did the beach early so by the time we were back at the house for lunch everyone else was either at the beach or golfing. I was making lunch while the boys were playing in the living room....being super calm ( ok maybe not lol) when I hear Z start screaming. I had heard a thud and expected a bloody lip or busted nose. As I am holding him I see no visible injury until I feel blood all over my arm and thats when I noticed his chin. Typically these type of things don't bother me and I dive into action. All I can say is THANK HEAVENS FOR GUIN!!!!! She inspected it , helped me call to make sure the closest urgent care did stitches on children and kept Maxwell back with her while I took Z in. We both were hesitant on if it even needed stitched up but with a whole week of sand and pool ahead of us I didn't want to be trying to keep a butterfly on it and keep it clean.
4 stitches , lots of tears from both of us and some ice cream and we were headed home to show everyone out battle wounds.
Thankfully the rest of the day was easy and we had a low key day the next day just playing in the pool.
July 4th on the beach was the best thing ever in the history of ever!!!!! We woke up early and walked down into the little town for a hometown parade , swam the day away and ended the night with a Mexican fiesta and fireworks on the beach! You could see 3-4 different towns display off of the coast! Listening to Maxwell's excitement was something I will NEVER forget!! Z just kept saying " go bye bye to house"...he wasn't a fan.
