Lining it up....
Its been 2 weeks today and I've already gotten so much done for the wedding !!!!!!! The best part is my " Diva Groom " ( I will explain later ) actually is involved and lets me rant and dream for hours about ideas. This alone has made everything so much easier. He lets me sob and beg for a Vegas wedding then quickly brings me back to earth. I am so lucky to have this man ! It is making wedding planning a lot more fun ! So here's what have folks:
Date: November 12, 2011 - We had to plan around the Buckeyes football games because my mother and groom would not show up otherwise. This wasn't our first choice but it will work . They play Purdue that day and it will be an afternoon game because the Big Ten does not allow night games in November apparently. 11-12-11.....I like it :)
Venue : Oasis Church ( the church I have attended since I was 3 ) ...I couldn't imagine not getting married there. Its where I gave my life to the Lord , its where I got baptized , and its where I have sat many of mornings praying for the man I would marry and imagining it happening right there in that very room !
Reception : Shaker Run Golf Club! I wanted a " shabby chic " barn wedding but there is NO WHERE in this area that would hold the number of people we are having. I'm actually really looking forward to walking into the reception and walking out and not having to do anything to set it up!!!! They have been so incredible already there and we haven't even gotten into all the details ! Matt's just excited because he gets 2 free rounds of golf !
There are so many things to look at and decide and I am so excited about it all . I won't lie , at first it was stressful and honestly no fun but now I'm pumped. I just have to remind myself that its OUR day and what we decide is fine. I am such a people pleaser and listening to everyones opinions and comments can be extremely hard, especially when its our families and close friends , but at the end of the day its about us and I have to constantly remind myself of that. We both are so focused on the bigger picture of marriage , not of the wedding and that is what counts. 30 years from now , what color napkins we used or who was invited won't matter.
I can't wait for what I'll have to say tomorrow because today I'm doing something my mom and I have talked about for a long time.....dress shopping :)
