Goodbyes are harder when you don't get to say them

Monday afternoon I got the phone call that one of my dearest friends had lost her mother. It was sudden and no one had a chance to say goodbye. That alone breaks your heart. Then I started to think of all the things this amazing woman of God had taught me . I remember the first time I met her, I was 10 and she was dropping Amy off at a slumber party. She had this laugh that was insanely contagious. The joy that filled her was remarkable. Satan tried to steal that joy over the course of a few years ....he pulled out all of his big guns but nothing could rip the Light out of her. She stood so firm on the Word. I am so thankful she had a part in my life and that I could learn from her. I'll miss you Mama B !

".....Sitting with Mama alone in her bedroom
She opened her eyes, and then squeezed my hand She said, I have to go now, my time here is over And with her final word, she tried to help me understand Mama whispered softly, Time will ease your pain Life's about changing, nothing ever stays the same And she said, How can I help you to say goodbye? It's OK to hurt, and it's OK to cry Come, let me hold you and I will try How can I help you to say goodbye?"
