Two and Four

Behind is the theme of this blog it seems! I don't want to look back and be upset that I didn't update it just because I was a little tardy so in an effort to get things back to normal I am going to be bombarding you with things about my crew! First up are the birthday boys!!
In January the boys turned 2 and 4!! This year we had a party at the house to keep things " simple". I mean for as simple as it can be with 40 people :) On the boys actual birthdays they woke up to surprises just for them but the party was a joint celebration :)
Maxwell at four....Tall at 42 inches and weighing in at 38 pounds. He is still between 4T and 5T clothes and is outgrowing his size 11 shoes. To look back at this year and see how far he has grown is just amazing. At 3 he was only saying about 10-15 words.....not he will not stop talking. And to make it even more amazing he is reading. Not just a couple random words or words from memorization , he is full on sounding things out and reading anything you throw his way. This makes it difficult for all my " well we can't do that buddy because that sign says.....:...he calls my bluff immediately. He is still in preschool four mornings a week. School is a struggle for us. Most mornings he cries and begs not to go. He talks highly of his teachers so I know he enjoys them but I can't put my finger on what the issue is.We still have a whole year of preschool to go before he is old enough for kindergarten. Socially he needs school. He still needs to practice sharing, patience and flexibility. All of that aside Maxwell is my passionate one. He has big feelings and loves hard. His most favorite thing is being " home together as a family" as he says. He loves to play close by and is stoked when he gets to cuddle with mom and dad after Z goes to bed.A year ago he would still cry or be timid around some of our friends and oh boy has that changed, He has a few favorites that he asks for and adores! This year brought about finally being fully potty trained ( thank you Mimi ) ,he became a cousin and adores his J, his first plane ride , and a long list of hysterical sayings. Just so we don't forget some favorites :
Aye Aye captain mommy
It was nothing ( in response to us saying " thank you ")
I want you to have me
The Penis Movie ( the peanuts movie)...which is yelled from the top of his lungs
Old Lady ( old navy)
Elegator ( elevator )
Daycation ( vacation)
I would be honored to
Zachary Dean
Our buddy is so big and my mama heart can't deal. He measured in at 38 3/4 inches and 34 pounds. That is right , just 4 pounds behind his brother. He is off the charts for height , weight and head size so I am expecting some kind of scholarship ;) Z is sharing some clothes with brother but mainly in 3T and kicking off his size 8 shoes. Zachary loves his bink , his blankie , Veggie Tales and food. I am not sure which order to put those things in. He loves to play cars , sing and chase Maxwell around. It has been a new experience for us with how well Z is able to communicate. Since Maxwell wasn't even signing at 2 its amazing how less frustrating it is for everyone that Zachary can ask for things. It makes my heart break for how upset Maxwell must of felt not being able to tell us what he needed. He went through a month of pretending to be a newborn again and wake me up all hours of the night to say " hi mama , drink?" but has finally settled back into being my good sleeper. The both go down about 8-8:30 and are up around 6:3--7 ( thanks to school hours boo). And my sweet boys still give me a 2-3 hour nap every afternoon. Insert all the praise hands ! When I was pregnant with Z I would pray that he would be my gentle and laid back boy. He is an observer , waiting to see what its all about before running in head first. His temper is starting to show for sure but most of the time he is quiet and sweet as ever. How did I get blessed with two cuddlers ?!?! They both prefer my lap to anywhere else. Zachary has learned all about the time out corner and is heart broken that he broke a rule. He thinks sneezes are the funniest thing on the planet and wants to be doing whatever big brother is doing. Zachary also had his first plane ride this year , is officially in a big boy bed , has mastered the dvd player and the power wheel, he also became a cousin and adores Julianna. He adores his daddy and about looses it when he hears the garage door go up when Matt gets home. He has found a best friend in Papaw ( Al ) and would stay by his side 24/7 if we let him :)
