Weekend Recap :)
I feel like I always love my weekends ...what's not to love about Matt being home for 2 days and me having 3 1/2 days off in a row to be with my little man ?! But this weekend took the cake as favorite thus far :) I put on my big girl pants and decided it was ok for Max to spend the night with my mom so Matt and I could have some quality time together. Like any new mom , I was a nervous wreck beforehand . I packed enough supplies for a month , which is extra stupid because my mom has everything he needs at her house. I knew max would be fine , he loves his time there. I'm sure some people think this was too early or even too late but for us it was perfect timing. Grammy and papaw picked Max up Friday evening and he was pumped :)
It was so wonderful to have time to focus on just Matt. It doesn't matter how pure our intentions are to spend time together once Max is asleep or happy playing ....there's always something to do....dishes ..work...clean bottles...make bottles...and while we have done a better job of turning off the tv and catching up on one another's days....this precious date night was much needed. Of all the things people list off for you that will change once you have a baby , you never fully understand until it happens. Matt and I are admittedly selfish with our time together ...we love to just be together no matter what we are doing and while we love having another Hampton in the mix, sometimes you just need time to actually focus on the other person. This will shock you I'm sure ( lol ) but we are slightly obsessed with the mini Hampton and other than the few hours I work , he is always with his mama. .We joked that I wasn't allowed to text my mom every five minutes and that I had to sleep in Saturday morning ( first time in 20'weeks but who is counting ?! Lol ). It was a perfect night! And as expected Max did great at my moms so I'm thinking this will have to be a monthly tradition :)
We have a saturday or Sunday ...lets be honest .. A lot of days ...tradition of meeting Matt's parents and sisters for lunch. We walked into Roosters Saturday to meet them before we picked Max up and heard a collective .."ahhhh" that he wasn't with us. No fear , he made a stop later to see them :) We are so blessed to be so close with our families. I am so grateful that Max will grow up in such loving families.
Another first this weekend for Max was a pool day ! Aunt Mals came over and captured it for us :) He was pretty chill and probably thinking " really mom , all this hype about a big bathtub ."
