4 Months

What a month this has been ! So many first ...so many smiles...and our first giggle !!!! Max did great at the doctor for this 4 month shots. Of course he looses his minds when the shots happen but as soon as I can pick him up he settles down and looks at the nurse like she is the Wicked Witch. Max and Daddy's time together is getting better. Matt does a great job with him , Max is just a little particular....I have no idea where he gets that from !!! I cannot believe how much fun it is being a mom. I love watching him figure things out. I love that he recognizes faces. I love that he has developed bonds with some special people.

4 Months

Weight:   15.9lbs All his stats put him into the 50th percentile which shocks me because I feel like he is huge.

Length: 25 1/4 !!! Thats almost 5 inches taller since birth!!!
Clothes:  He is rocking the 6 month sleepers and romper type outfits but still fits best in 3 Month other wise. I have had to exchange all his summer clothes for smaller sizes.
Sleep at Night:  He has been going through something the last month...maybe growing , maybe the " 4 month sleep regression". For a couple weeks he was getting up 1-2 times to eat, but he seems to be easing back into his normal routine. He goes down around 9, gets up around 6-7 to eat then usually back down till 8;30-9. Our only challenge is napping....he will nap like a champ in his swing or if we are on the go in his car seat but put him in his crib for naps and he thinks hes being tortured. After a week of trying he now will go down in his crib for a nap without loosing his mind but only stays asleep for 45 ish minutes...compared to 2 hours elsewhere. I know he just has to get used to it. It cracks me up though because he sleeps all night in his crib no problem , so its not like its a new environment  Once the naps get more regular in his crib my next mountain to climb is transitioning him out of his swaddle.
Yummys:  He is still on his formula. He's been eating 5 -6oz every 3-4 hours during the day still. Every few days he will gobble down 7oz for all his feedings. We got the go ahead to start introducing rice cereal. Babies this young do not need it for any nutritional purposes , but hes showing all the signs hes interested and I figured its good to start practicing. We have tried 2X now and he is more interested in playing with the spoon!
Favorite Things:  Anything he can get in his mouth, blankey for bed/naptime , " standing " up , talking to us , mommy's stories , daddy's silly faces and noises ,
Not So Favorite Things:   I can't really put my finger on anything he is super againist right now. Other than distractions when he wants to sleep.
What I'm Good at: Smiling , giggling when hes tickled , burping , rolling from side to side , going to sleep at night
Places I Like to go: Walks to Starbucks, Roosters, anywhere that Mommy and Daddy are
Looking Forward to:  Seeing how he does with the rice cereal ..our first time in a pool.

I love when he smiles at me behind his bink

Loves falling asleep holding my hand

Loves his exersaucer

First walk in the big boy stroller, you cant tell but he DID enjoy it .

This is how he likes to fall asleep for naps.

First time trying Rice Cereal

Uh mom let me show you how to do this.

 4 Month Favorites

1.Bright Stars Stack and Clack Activity Ball : Just in the last few weeks Max has taken to this toy. When I sit him up he loves to look at all the colors....and of course put it in his mouth

2.Aden and Anais Security Blanket: Max comforts himself when falling asleep by pulling a blanket over his face. The blankets he had been cuddling with are just a little too thick for this and make me nervous. He knows how to get the blanket up there but he hasn't figured out he can move it away from his face. These are small , thin and breathable and make this mama a little less nervous. He spotted his Bear blanket this morning and squealed , so at the moment he is using it and seems to be in heaven. lol

3.Britax Stroller : I know I talked about this in a earlier month...but this week I put Max in the actual stroller instead of the carseat attached....he loved it. It easily adjust so you can pick how far they lay back or sit up... and I love the harness. Its similar to a carseat harness so hes secure and isn't flopping around.

4.Fisher Price Step N Play: I got this bad boy out earlier than suggested because little man loves to be in a standing position. At first he would just kind of sit in it and look at everything but now he is starting to figure it out. His little eyes are so wide and just excited when he is it in. I'm really thankful for toys like this that can last a long time. Once hes standing you can remove the seat and he can walk himself around the toy. It seems like something we will have around for a long time.

5.Halo Sleep/Swaddle Sack: I really hated to stop using the Swaddle Me 's but this just seems to fit Max better and will help the transition out of the swaddle. I had been warned that the velcro on these wears out and I will say its true. Hopefully by the time its ruined he will be transitioned out of being swaddled and I won't have to buy another one.

6.Mam Bite and Brush : Max has something in his mouth almost every minute he is awake. This young a lot of the toys or even teething rings are just too big. This is perfect and he can grab onto it easily.

7. Johnson & Johnson Face and Hand wipes: While I have had to stop using a a lot of their products because Max's skin doesn't seem to be a fan , these are my favorite  I know I could use a normal wipe but I am one of those people that loves/hates smells. Most wipes remind me of poopy diapers and thats not what I want to be reminded of when I snuggle up to Max's sweet little face. These are fresh smelling, perfect for a quick clean up, and for wiping little hands that are always in his mouth.

8. Sophie Teether : Max still loves his big Sophie but she can be hard to handle lol. This one is smaller and easy for him to grab and manipulate himself!
