Family Traditions.....
Well its the holiday season and I am beyond excited for all of my family traditions ..new and old. Of all the things we do the one that always stand out to everyone is Christmas Bingo. Yep, I said it. We aren't even catholic. Theres even a bingo machine, which my dad controls until he gets bored and makes Dean do it. Now the prizes are no joke...I always go for windshield wiper fluid because I always need it this time of year lol. Next I grab the chocolate , after that I pretty much let the older folk get the prizes.
My other favorite its the arranging of the "Santa " blocks. We have blocks that spell out Santa....every year my brothers rearrange them into anything they can think of. 10 years later there favorites are " Sanat and Snaat " ! Well this year I found " Merry Christmas " blocks , lord help all of us Christmas eve because they will put together some pretty entertaining blocks.
Sometimes I can't wait to have kids and play Santa. The stories I hear from Mom and Al about what they went through are hilarious. One year Al had such a hard time getting my Barbie Dream House together that when I woke up they told me it was till the middle of the night ( me being the genius I am believed them ) and to go back to bed. The best is the year I was starting to doubt fairytale creatures ; it was Easter and to help me believe that a giant bunny hopped around from house to house my mom cut hair from my cabbage patch horse and sprinkled it from the front door to the kitchen table....needless to say I regained my faith in the Easter Bunny.....that was just 3 years ago so no judging people !
You'd think I'd miss Christmas as a kid but every year it gets better and better. I love being with family and surprising people with gifts. I am so excited to give a few people their gifts this year, I clearly can't tell you what they are but I can tell you my mom will be SO pumped about hers and Matt will flip about his. Its so fun to spoil those you love :)
