Birth of a Little Man
Well I've clearly been MIA from blog postings for awhile, my hands have been busy holding the sweetest little boy that ever walked this earth. Since my last post was at about 36 weeks let me bring you up to date ......
Week 38
For the last few weeks of pregnancy my blood pressure kept creeping up into the scary numbers. After numerous checks, NST's for little man and the meanest test any dr could ever ask of you...a 24 hour urine collection....GROSS....my Dr decided little man needed to come on out and meet the world. We were set up to go in on the evening of Monday January 14th and slowly start the process of labor. That entire day was surreal. I went to Target and cried while strolling through the store...people probably thought I was a lunatic. I was excited that it was my last trip to target alone then completely terrified that it was my last trip to Target alone lol. After my sob fest in the land of Target I went to see Kristyn and the boys and she took my last belly picture. I won't lie, while I am thrilled to not be a swollen mess I do miss that bump.
8:00pm ---Checked into Miami Valley South. I am blessed that a dear client of mine who is a L&D nurse at the main MVH called ahead and hooked me up with the best nurses. God seriously handpicked these ladies to work the hours we were there. I will never be able to repay Lisa for helping align these meetings. Our night nurse who everyone called " Granny Judy" had been a L&D nurse for more years than she wanted to admitt :) She was caring , tender and walked us through every step with such a compassion. She was actually on duty the next evening and helped during the birth :)

Timeline of Our Journey :)
Monday January 14th , 2013
6:30pm--- Last meal and I demanded Cracker Barrel.
8:30pm They started cervical gel and we hunkered down for a boring evening. Matt watched sports on his Ipad and I watched Footloose on mine :) My " boring " night became pretty eventful starting at 11pm....thank God for Judy and her magic medicine for my IV :)
Tuesday January 15th, 2013
8:00am---Met my day nurse Melissa who was the sweetest thing ever. She let me eat some breakfast on the down low so you can imagine my love for her lol.Gel out....pitocin in..... my body was clearly ready for labor because they never even got to up my dosage before they had to turn the pitocin off and let my body do the rest.
12:00pm----4cm, back labor thanks to little man laying face up and alot of nasty looks it was epidural time. Oh God bless the lady that did my epidural..... it was perfection. They broke my water around 2:00 at which time the Dr's were texting each other saying "BFB" Big Frickin Baby about little man. They were all convinced he was going to be a beast...so you can imagine the thought that were going through my head about delivering haha.I spent the rest of the afternoon napping and resting up for the main event.
6:30pm------Lets push this baby out :) Matt , who we were all worried about considering hes not exactly the best person to call if your gushing blood , was INCREDIBLE. We laughed alot during this process. At one point Matt needed to sit down cause " his knees hurt" ...not the thing to say to a room full of ALL women. I was cracking up....they did not let him live that down.
7:54pm----- The first time we laid our eyes on our precious little miracle. The first thing that I said " He's so tiny"....they laid him on my chest and Matt and I just fell in love. I don't even think we cried, we were just so overcome with joy. They let us cuddle him for awhile then quickly weighed him and brought him back to me. Our beast baby was a whole 7lb 14oz ;) Matt went down the hall to the waiting room to tell our family and i heard the best round of cheers I"ll ever hear!!! One thing no one warned me about was how much more I'd fall in love with Matt...I didn't think that was possible but watching him with our son has opened up an entire new section of my heart. He didn't leave his side and the pride and love that beamed off Matt was intoxicating. I am so blessed.....these boys are mine :)
