Zachary Dean Update
It has been awhile since I have really updated about either of the boys but since Z snuck in some of Maxwell's back to school pictures we will fill you in on him too :)
Zachary Dean , the sweetest , toughest little man. He is 2 and a half and about the size of most 3-4 year olds. Dude holds his own with the big kids and even though he still is having a hard time maneuvering those muscles around aka falls ALL THE TIME , he gets up brushes himself off and gets back at it. That is unless I am close enough to have witnessed it , then he comes running and pretend crying and saying " Doctur, doctur". No buddy, we don't go to the doctor for a hangnail no matter what your Mimi says ;)
Zachary's vocabulary is exploding. I think technically he would still be considered " behind" but when you have had a child the same age be 100% nonverbal , this seems like he is the chattiest boy of all time. I understand most of what he says and daily he has new phrases. I hate to always compare but I still every once in awhile look at him talking and think back to little Maxwell who didn't say anything at this age and think how frustrated he must of been.
I did the unthinkable and took his bink away about a month ago. Randomly he had a giant canker sore from his love affair with ketchup and we just didn't think a bink all day was helping that heal. He has done amazing. He has asked for it a handful of times but I just say " no more bink, you have blankies and Max ( his stuffed dog)" and he goes about his business. I wasn't prepared for how swiftly we took it away. I wanted a few more pictures or memories of him with it but it just worked out. Maxwell's bink removal ( sounds like some major surgery) was similar and I think it bothered me more than either of them.
My rockstar sleeper has been a little stinker the last month but I really think its a combo of the bink being gone and the lax in schedule this summer. I have been more consistent that last week and we are finally getting back to normal!!!
The one thing I will say is I was NOT prepared for the terrible twos or whatever you want to call them. Our experience before we so different. Max was nonverbal , afraid of strangers , afraid of family and pretty much attached to me 24/7 until.....well I'll let you know :). Z has ATTITUDE lately and its not my favorite. I keep praying for grace in how we are parenting and trying to take it one day at a time. The right way to do things is never the easiest or quickest and I have to keep reminding myself that. It would be WAY easier to give him what he wants and ignore even the little jabs or kicks he gets at Max but consistency is key right ? Lawdy lets hope !!!!!
So, when I was interviewing Maxwell for school Zachary kept answering too. Max was all about interviewing Z , so here are his answers. Clearly he didn't understand them all but man I was surprised how many he totally got! There are some blank ones that don't apply but Max insisted we follow the same list. Bossy!

13. What is your favorite toy? Max ( his stuffed dog from Secret Life of Pets)
14. What is your favorite thing to wear? Helmet ( my guess is he means the drum he wears like an astronaut helmet )
