3 Months

Well Max has graduated from a newborn to an infant :) I can't believe that he is 3 months old. Its so fun to watch his little personality emerge. This month has been a big one. I went back to work , which turned out to be alot better than I had expected. Max has been doing great with my mom and with Matt. I never doubted them , I am just a typical mama in the fact that I worry...alot. Its been nice seeing my Affinity family but as soon as I am off I am racing to get home and snuggle my little man. The first day I worked I came home and swore up and down he looked bigger.

Max has definitely started warming up to all those that love him. Even just a month ago he was leery of others holding him or getting too close. This month he is really starting to enjoy " talking " to people and smiling at any attention that comes his way. He loves watching Matt. Once Matt comes home Max has an eye on him at all times and gets the sweetest grin when Matt talks to him. He loves anything my mom or Grandma Charlotte have to say , they could tell him about the brand of toilet paper they are buying and he will just sit and stare and smile and coo back at them.

He still adores bath time , thankfully his temper-tantrums about being taken out of the bath have become a thing of the past.I love our bed time routine. We started doing it when he was about 3 weeks old and I have to believe that is one of the major reasons we are blessed with such a good sleeper. I'll have to do a post on it soon :)

Each month , week, ok day I learn something right along with Max. I am definitely learning that all those perfect pictures I had painted in my mind about how we would do things are now a comical cartoon. Kristyn and I laugh about the advertisements you see with a mom who is dressed to the nines, sipping a lemonade and reading a book while her baby plays quietly on the porch in a pop up bassinet. Are there down times where there is time for yourself ? Of course, but the best lesson I have learned....be flexible. I wanted Max to sleep peacefully next to me in a co-sleeper...he wanted to be in his crib at 4 weeks ( does this mean he will move out at 18? Lets hope not lol). I was going to be the worlds best breastfeeder ....my body said "uhm sorry bout your luck sister"......You see my point.

The best part about Max's 3 month birthday is that today Papaw Al got to come home from the hospital. Its been a rough few months for him and a standard outpatient test on Thursday ended with him in emergency surgery and a pacemaker being installed. After a scary weekend with lots of unknowns things started looking bright today and he is where he belongs...home :) We still have a little journey to finish but God has been faithful as always and we know He has Al directed into the right hands. I am so thankful that God so gracefully takes away your fears and replaces it with sweet peace. We have to have our papaw Al back to 100%. Max insisted on visiting him daily and of course flirted with the nurses to ensure Papaw would get extra ice cream with dinner , such a good boy ;)

3 Months

Weight:   13.2lbs

Length: Have no idea ....extra long
Clothes:  He is still in 3 month clothes. I put him in a 6 month sleeper because his toes are getting a little snug in his current ones and it swallowed him lol. I can't wait till its warmer and he can rock his little shorts.
Sleep at Night:  He is still a great sleeper. He is going to bed around 9 and sleeping straight through until around 7-7:30. And the little stinker still naps a ton. He is just like Matt and I ....priority 1 is sleep...2 is eat...repeat.
Yummys:  He is still on his formula. He's been eating 5 -6oz every 3-4 hours during the day.
Favorite Things:  Binky , cuddly blanket at nap time , play mat , bath time , reading books , songs
Not So Favorite Things:   The little reflux thats developed , mommy talking while she feeds him ( no lie the stinker will stop eating and cry if I try to talk to someone else while I feed him )
What I'm Good at: Sleep, talking to my "friends" on my playmat , making us laugh
Places I Like to go:  Walks to Starbucks, Roosters, anywhere that Mommy and Daddy are
Looking Forward to:  Actually hearing a laugh. He does a silent laugh face but I want to hear a giggle.

3 Month Favorites
1. Britax Travel System. I am so thankful we picked this stroller / carseat. I love that both canopy's overlap so that I can take him on walks even when its a little cooler out. Its lightweight and super easy to use.
2. Taggie. A friend gave this to me and I just recently introduced Max to him. If you have seen the pictures you can see they have hit it off. Max smiled everytime he plays with this.
3. Bright Stars Giraffe. This is the toy on Max's carseat. Just in the last couple of weeks he has started to notice him. He now kicks and squeals when he sees him :) One of his "friends"
4. Thankfully we have not had to deal with any diaper issues other the intial milk allergy. However, with Max sleeping 10 hours at night I think he occasionally gets irritated. This is over the counter but you have to ask the pharmacist for it. Its magical. I actually started using it on my finger. My ring finger gets raw with my hands being in water all day at work and this has helped tremendously.
5. Peek and Play App for the Ipad . Max has officially become lazy when it comes to tummy time. You can surround him with his " friends" , sing songs and act a fool and he will not budge. He will just lay there , suck on his fists and wait for you to pick him back up. This app gets his attention and will keep him looking up and all around for a decent amount of time.
6. Pampers Baby Dry. These diapers are great for night time. When Max gets up in the morning this diaper is full full full...but his little skin isn't destroyed. Definitely worth it in my mind.
7.Everything Happy. This blanket is from a company that is amazing. When you purchase something your gift comes with a tag that reads " One to love , One to give". You can go online and "give" one to a charity. I received this one and a bigger elephant one and Max loves them. The bear is perfect for right now...he snuggles up to this and its the most precious thing I've ever seen. I love these so much I have bought them for anyone having a baby.
8. Baby Einstein Neptune Adventures Gym. We have been laying Max under this for awhile but this month he looks for it. I hang all his " friends" from it and he will lay there and kick and talk. Its the sweetest thing. I know there are alot of different varieties of these mats and honestly I don't think there is a bad option. This  one is lightweight , easily moves from room to room and has lots of different ways to attach toys to it. :)
