1 Month :)
Little man is one month old....I'm sorry, where has the time gone ??!!! Its been a beautiful whirlwind. Max has been to his first Superbowl party, celebrated his first Valentines Day and helped his daddy celebrate his birthday ! Each day he becomes a little more alert and I look forward to these times. Watching him observe his surroundings and make funny faces keeps me occupied for hours. His personality is slowly emerging and as of now I'm going to say he is a laid back little dude. He lets you know when he wants fed and changed but other than that he is content....oh unless you aren't mommy...then he feels NO shame letting you know he would prefer me. I don't mind this one bit! I have mastered most of my daily tasks with Max attached to me or at least close by so he can keep an eye on me. I do pray he starts to give Matt an easier time. I think hes testing him....will you rock me like mommy?....will you feed me like mommy?....mommy holds my bink for me, will you?.....all of these answers are a loud YES but Max wants to keep everyone on their toes.
Not so sure about this "crib" thing |
Mommy and I's favorite spot to cuddle |
One Month
Weight: 11lbs
Length: Last check was 20 3/4 inches
Clothes: Still rocking the Newborn!!! I can't believe it. We had NO newborn clothes but clearly I've put up no argument shopping !
Sleep at Night: He is consistently sleeping 3-4 hours between feeding which makes me happy. He eats and then goes right back to sleep. He's all business at night !
Yummys: Poor Max and mama have been through the ringer with the eating situation. We have gone from breastfeeding - breastfeeding with supplements while waiting for my milk to come in while in the NICU - changing the supplement due to allergy- realizing he is allergic to milk , changing formula again and cutting all dairy from my diet---purely formula. This was a heartbreaking decision for me. I have been VERY vocal about my opinions about breastfeeding and I had no intentions of ever being a formula mom. After doing everything that every book and lactation consultant suggested , out of the 3oz he was eating , he was getting less than 1/2 ounce from me. And that 1/2oz was torturing his digestive system. I am sure there is more I could of done but it is what it is at this point. I pray things go better with future mini Hamptons
Favorite Things: mommy , binks, snuggles , carseat , lullaby's
Not So Favorite Things: Being naked after the bath , gas lol
What I'm Good at: Holding his head up and turning it from side to side , making mom and dad laugh , sleeping , eating
Places I Like to go: All his grandparents houses , Kristyn's house , Target , Babies R Us , Roosters
Looking Forward to: Nice weather and walks :) Smiles that aren't from gas lol
One Month Favorites
1-Humidifier: Max has been so congested from the heat being on ...the humidier has made the world of a difference
2-Aden and Anais Blankets. Hands down best blankets ever.
3-Aden and Anais Burp clothes. They absorb a ton and later on can be snapped on as a bib
4- Mam pacifiers ...especially the ones that glow in the dark. Easy for me to find in a dark room
5- Carters sleepers with zippers. Since Max has made it clear he prefers to be clothed , the zippers make nighttime diaper changes super speedy.
6- First Years Sound machine. This helps all of us sleep better lol. Blocks out Max noises so Matt doesn't wake up...and blocks our Matt noises in the morning so Max doesn't wake up haha
7- Huggies....these diaper smell SO GROSS. Kristyn said it best...wet Cheerios...but they do not leak at night. No matter what crazy tricks I have tried every other diaper has leaked at night. I've heard this from a lot of other moms of boys. SO until he is a little bigger , these are our go to for night time diapers. We switch back to the so soft and wonderful Pampers Swaddlers during the day
8- Max loves his bouncy seat. He gets so cute and cuddled up everytime he is in it.
