The Original....
As many of you know I am one proud " aunt" ! I am sure you have read about my munchkins or seen the hundreds of pictures I post. I feel so lucky that I have friends who let me be Aunt Jo Jo to their babies. The first opportunity I got to fulfill such a role was with my first munchkin , and only girl to date , little miss Addison. I have felt connect to that little girl since she was in her mamas belly. I was blessed to be with Carri the first time she saw Addy's heartbeat , that isn't my story to tell but it was such an incredible moment. And 9 months later Carri honored me with the privileged of witnessing Addy's birth.
If you have seen a birth you know what I am talking about when I say it is the most amazing thing you will ever witness. I fell in love with that little girl immediately. Carri and Tim had been up for a good 2+ days so the day she was born I got to stay with Carri so Tim could catch a few hours of sleep. Listening to her little sounds and holding her in between feedings and diaper changes , I knew she would be my first munchkin! When Carri went back to work I got to keep Addy on Wednesdays ....and that I did from the time she was 8 weeks old until a few weeks ago. Its has been an incredible 5 years , watching her crawl , walk , talk , name me " Jo jo" , be a big sister twice , potty train , go to school..... its been so sweet. I knew when I stopped keeping her ( and her adorable little brothers ) it would be a big change but I didn't expect it to effect me so much. Words can't describe how much I miss my Addy/Jo Jo time.
She has been a good sport sharing me ha ha.....Along with Addy I get to play Jo Jo to her 2 little brothers, Austin and Carter... and my other best friends little man , Little Worm ( who I refuse to call Matthew until he can verbally look at me and say " Jo Jo , please stop calling me Lil Worm..I am in college after all " )
Here are some Addy-isms that I will never forget :
- Looking at Sherri Shepard and the View and questioning " Jo Jo on TV ?"...yes she was the first to recognize my questionable ethnicity
- Looking at two older women at Applebees and telling Kristyn and I " Look at those old grandmas over there"
- Getting her blanket and needing some " cuddle time " with me every Wednesday
- Telling me she was getting married , she had told the boy and " He wasn't scared at all"
- Coloring me a picture every week for a few years , and yes I have them all
- Her seeing a maxi pad and saying " Jo Jo diaper ?"
So yes , maybe she is obsessed with dresses and Target ..... I think those are good traits I have taught her ! :) I pray that God brings many more munchkins my way from friends and sister-in-laws but none will ever take the place of " The Orignal" and I can't wait till 11-12-11 when she is my flower girl..... :)
