If actions speak louder than words then why are you still talking ?
I bet if I looked back on my past Facebook status' I would find this one multiple times , " Actions speak louder than words ". I almost think this could be the theme of this season of my life ;In friendships , in love , in work , pretty much everywhere.
The first time I remember being crazy about this theory was a little over 2 years ago. I was going through a rough season in my life and everywhere I turned someone was saying " Oh if you need anything let me know " Or " I"m here for you " .....well guess what ? There were some big talkers but only a few that put action behind their words. I learned so much about friendship and what it means to genuinely be there for someone.I learned that you can't be the only one pouring into a friendship , you get out what you put in . Think about it , when you're having a bad week and someone tells you " Oh let me know what I can do " ...do we ever call them and say " please come help " NO! Thats why people need to just show up . You have to be aggressive with your support.
One of the times people proved me right with this was when I bought my condo. Lisa and Kristyn busted their butts helping me. I referred to Lisa as my contractor and of course Kristyn named herself the hired help....therefore Lisa calling her Lexi the mexi......yes yes we are so politically incorrect and I"m OK with it :) For about a month every Sunday and Monday they were by my side. I remember the night I closed Kristyn and I sat on my brand new floor , ate Chipotle and dreamnt about how it would look when we were all done. Lisa spent hours at Ikea and Lowes with me.....oh lordy I had to be annoying.
Being a hairstylist is really another name for an underpaid therapist. Therapist get paid more but we can make you look better on the inside and outside so clearly we are the talented ones ;) Hearing so many stories from people only proves my theory more that most things can be related to this : Actions speak louder than words !
Maybe people disagree , but when you're dealing with me ....words only go so far. If you can't put your words into action.....chances are the words are pretty empty.
